"Is it actually vital for your survival that your partner is a Vulcan woman? Because if not, I may have an alternate solution that could be much easier."

Kirk volunteers to take care of Spock's "Vulcan biology" problem, angst with a happy ending ensues.

My friend and beta reader summarized the plot of the above with this image:

"My understanding of the subject is limited, but I would venture a guess that the good doctor is currently struggling with the primitive human emotion known as jealousy."

McCoy had been over his little academy crush on Jim Kirk for years. Or so he thought, until learning about Kirk's creative solution to Spock's "Vulcan biology" problem brought up some long-dormant feelings toward his handsome and charming captain. Now he can't stop asking himself if there's any way he might still have a chance.

And this one earned me THREE images

"You do not mean that, captain. You are not in your right mind."

Relieved of command due to the premature aging effects of the strange phenomenon the landing party was exposed to on Gamma Hydra Four, Captain Kirk struggles to control his fear and anger. Can the increasingly senile crew find a cure before they die of old age? And is it too late for Kirk to confess how he feels about Spock?

It would have been so much easier if the memories came back to him in chronological order—if he could have watched the significant moments of his life play out before his eyes like a film. But he supposed it would have been pure fantasy to expect something so orderly and convenient from as ancient and inexact a process as the refusion. Besides, if there was anything he did remember about who he was, it was that his mind had never seemed to work quite as logically as he wanted it to.

In the days following his refusion on Mount Seleya, Spock struggles to piece together the fragments of his recovered memories.

I understand that many members of the crew are in the habit of exchanging greeting cards during the period of time that corresponds to the "winter" season on Earth's northern hemisphere, calculating from the date and time that our mission began. I hope this epistle proves sufficient to participate in this custom.

Kirk and Spock exchange holiday cards over the course of their five-year mission.

I wrote the above for the 2025 K/S Advent event, and spent a lot of time finding suitable images for the cards and figuring out to use custom HTML and CSS on Ao3 to make it look the way I wanted! I've also made a backup available here, just in case. This fic also has lovely fanart, in the form of stamps for the cards, by idontwanttoboldlygo on tumblr!

Concerned about how much Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock have been overworking themselves lately, Dr. McCoy orders the both of them to take two consecutive days off and enjoy a proper weekend for once. Spock learns that humans often spend their weekends engaging in a social ritual known as "dating," and asks Kirk to give him an education in that fascinating custom. The rest of the crew has some "helpful" ideas about how to make sure Kirk and Spock's first date goes well.

The above was written for a big bang event and includes fantastic illustrations by Bubert!

I've also written up my thoughts on some Star Trek novels: so far you can read about The Price of the Phoenix and Killing Time on this site if you so desire.
